The Government of India (GoI) is the sovereign authority and central governing body of the Republic of India. It administers the country at the national level through its three branches — Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary — ensuring the smooth functioning of democracy and the implementation of the Constitution.
The Government formulates and enforces laws, oversees development policies, maintains national security, manages foreign relations, and ensures welfare for citizens across all sectors including health, education, economy, and infrastructure.
It functions through various Ministries, Departments, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), each responsible for specific areas of governance, such as finance, agriculture, defence, and social justice.
