🏛️ Description
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is one of the core ministries of the Government of India, responsible for internal security, public safety, border management, disaster response, and coordination among states and union territories. It ensures peace, law and order, and national integrity through effective policy, coordination, and enforcement mechanisms.
The Ministry oversees matters related to policing, intelligence, counter-terrorism, citizenship, immigration, human rights, and disaster management. It also supervises paramilitary forces, law-and-order machinery, and administrative frameworks across India’s union territories.
Through its departments and agencies, MHA maintains the internal security apparatus, supports modernization of police forces, strengthens border infrastructure, and ensures humanitarian relief and rehabilitation during emergencies.
