The Ministry of Science & Technology (MoST) drives India’s science, technology, and innovation agenda. It formulates policies, funds research, builds national laboratories and technology centres, and translates R&D into applications that advance industry, healthcare, environment, agriculture, and public services.

The Ministry works through three core departments—Science & Technology, Biotechnology, and Scientific & Industrial Research—to strengthen basic research, nurture startups and deep-tech, develop human capital, and promote international S&T cooperation.
