The Integrated Wool Development Programme (IWDP) is a comprehensive scheme of the Ministry of Textiles implemented through the Central Wool Development Board (CWDB), Jodhpur, aimed at holistic development of India’s wool sector.
The scheme focuses on:
- Enhancing wool production, processing, and marketing infrastructure.
- Promoting branding and quality assurance through official marks like Indian Wool Mark, Kaleen (Carpet) Mark, and Pashmina Mark.
- Ensuring better remuneration for wool growers and increased export potential of Indian woollen products.
Under the addendum guidelines (dated 14 October 2021), three critical sub-components were introduced:
- Development of Indian Wool Mark
- Development of Kaleen (Carpet) Mark
- Development of Pashmina Mark/Label
These marks establish authenticity, traceability, and quality assurance for Indian wool and wool-based products.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Central/State Government Organization, Statutory/Autonomous Body, or Cooperative recognized by the Ministry of Textiles.
- Must have verifiable experience in textiles, testing, branding, or quality certification.
- Should be capable of preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) with physical and financial details.
- Project completion within 24 months from the release of the first installment.
- The project must align with BIS testing standards and prescribed SOPs for each mark.
