About Us
The Indian Medicines Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited (IMPCL) is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of AYUSH, established in 1978. Headquartered in Mohan, District Almora (Uttarakhand), IMPCL manufactures and supplies authentic Ayurvedic and Unani medicines to central and state government hospitals, dispensaries, and research institutions across India.
It is among India’s most trusted producers of traditional medicines, ensuring quality, affordability, and adherence to classical formulations mentioned in authoritative AYUSH texts.
IMPCL is a Mini Ratna CPSE, ISO 9001:2015, and WHO-GMP certified enterprise.
Objectives
- Manufacture high-quality Ayurvedic and Unani medicines based on classical texts.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply to CGHS, Central Armed Police Forces, State AYUSH departments, and government hospitals.
- Maintain the highest GMP and quality control standards.
- Support AYUSH research councils (CCRAS, CCRUM, etc.) through medicine supply and formulation development.
- Promote India’s traditional medicine heritage globally.
