🏛️ Description

The Ministry of Cooperation is a relatively new ministry established by the Government of India on 6th July 2021 to strengthen the cooperative movement and realize the vision of “Sahkar se Samriddhi” — Prosperity through Cooperation. It aims to promote cooperative-based economic development by simplifying processes, improving ease of doing business for cooperatives, and enabling the growth of cooperative institutions across sectors.

The Ministry focuses on the creation of a separate administrative, legal, and policy framework for strengthening cooperative societies in both rural and urban India. It works to ensure transparency, modernization, and digitization of the cooperative ecosystem, thereby making cooperatives more accessible, accountable, and self-sustaining.
