πŸ›οΈ Description

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is the apex body under the Government of India responsible for planning, promoting, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of environmental and forestry policies and programs. It serves as the national authority for the conservation of ecosystems, wildlife, and biodiversity, and for addressing challenges related to pollution control and climate change.

The Ministry works towards achieving sustainable development by balancing economic growth with environmental protection. It is the nodal agency for international environmental cooperation, representing India at global platforms such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).

Through its attached and subordinate offices, MoEFCC formulates national policies, enforces environmental laws, promotes afforestation, and coordinates research and awareness programs related to ecology and climate resilience.
