🏛️ Description

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is the nodal agency of the Government of India responsible for policy formulation, administration, and regulation of information dissemination, mass media, and broadcasting services in the country. It plays a key role in shaping India’s communication strategy, promoting freedom of expression, preserving culture, and ensuring responsible media practices.

The Ministry oversees film, television, print, radio, and digital media sectors, facilitating public information through both government and private channels. It also manages the dissemination of official information via Press Information Bureau (PIB) and coordinates with public broadcasters such as Doordarshan and All India Radio.

MIB is committed to promoting media literacy, fostering international media cooperation, supporting the film industry, and ensuring transparent communication between the government and citizens.
