🏛️ Description
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs is the nodal agency under the Government of India dedicated to the welfare, development, and empowerment of Scheduled Tribes (STs) across the country. Established in 1999, the Ministry formulates policies, programs, and laws to safeguard tribal rights, promote socio-economic development, and preserve rich tribal culture, heritage, and identity.
It ensures access to quality education, healthcare, livelihoods, and infrastructure in tribal areas through partnerships with States, autonomous councils, and NGOs. The Ministry also drives digital inclusion, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship among tribal communities.

- Formulate and implement welfare and development policies for Scheduled Tribes (STs).
- Promote socio-economic empowerment through education, skill development, and employment.
